My name is Patricia. I love to care for the vulnerable people. My experience with my father as a stroke patient made me develop love and care for clients with mobility and health problems. As a personal support worker, I have had the opportunity to work closely with individuals who require assistance with their daily activities due to physical or cognitive limitations. I am a mom of three beautiful children aged 13, 11, and 8. I recently moved to Red Deer from Newfoundland in July 2023. I am currently employed at St. Francis of Assisi Middle School as an Education Assistant, but due to recent cutbacks, I will no longer have a job in September. From 2019-2021, I worked with a child who had Autism. My duties were to provide therapy to help get him ready for school. He was non verbal, I taught him many skill, the most important was how to use his speech device. After my therapy was done the family hired me to care for him when they were both working. 2003-2005 I have worked with a 40 year old female with cerebral palsy for 2 years in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She was also non verbal, and I cared and was a companion for her. Cooking, cleaning, errands, and self care.
