Hi, my name is Marilyn, a 44-year-old woman from Burnaby, who is a caregiver. I have 5 years formal work experience in caregiving, my heart is fully dedicated to provide assistance and care for those who need it. I am particularly interested in home health care and I can work full-time or part-time, whatever suits your needs best. I am a proud Filipino citizen, fluent in English and Tagalog. I am extensively available throughout the week, from mornings to night, on all days. Therefore, shifts will never be an issue and I am more than happy to adjust my schedule according to your requirements. In terms of duties, I am comfortable handling everything from basic household chores like housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation to more specific caregiving tasks such as assisting with walking, Alzheimer/Dementia care, and escorting to appointments. I am comfortable working with clients diagnosed with Dementia, Hearing Impairment and Congestive Heart Failure. I can also plan visits, outings, and trips to visit neighbors, friends, and family which adds social interactions and improves the patient's lifestyle. I want to note that though I do not have a driver's license and cannot use a vehicle on the job, I can still travel even to remote areas and have no problem with relocating if required. Furthermore, I am committed to maintaining a healthy and non-smoking environment for those under my care. While I don't currently have a work permit, I am willing to obtain one. Though I am unable to provide swimming assistance, I am proficient in providing toileting assistance and bathing help as required, being capable to give bed baths and to handle bed pans safely and hygienically. I am open to both live-in and live-out arrangements, and while I do not have children of my own, I am open to working with children with disabilities. Lastly, while I am yet to obtain a police check, I am willing to get one for the peace of mind of the families I work with.
