My name is Sara - I am 26 years old & live in Brandon, Manitoba with my boyfriend and fur baby. I have spent the past 7 years working with children on the autism spectrum - It is a job that I truly enjoy as I love being able to help others and have always loved working with children of all ages. I’m from a small town in southern Alberta! I was recently married and my husband and I are planning to move to Brandon at the end of August. I recently completed a course in marriage and family relations and learned so much about the healthy development of kids. I love all things self improvement, psychology, communication, mindfulness, meditation and especially music! I play piano and guitar and love to sing. I love to implement kind and clear communication with kids, validating their feelings and worries, but also helping them learn boundaries and how to be independent, obedient and kind. I have always been fascinated with how impressionable kids are and how adults can have such a profound impact on their development. My goal is to be the kind of caretaker that fosters their learning and growth in developing valuable attributes such as resilience, kindness, empathy and more. However, now I reside in Brandon during my school year. I have a passion for sports, having played and excelled in ringette, an ice sport similar to hockey. I played at the highest level possible for my age in Canada and proudly represented Manitoba in both the Canadian Ringette National Championships and the Western Canadian Ringette Championships.
